The Center Conducts National policy dialogue Forum

Center for Human Rights of Addis Ababa University under Project STRACE-CHR Project’s Policy and Practice Collaboration and Diffusion activities conducted a National Policy Dialogue forum under the theme Protection of Women’s Rights and the Administration of Justice in Ethiopia. November 5 and 6, 2018 at Adama.

Getahun kassa (Dr) Policy and Practice Collaboration and Diffusion sub-project coordinator on his speech said that objective of the forum is to bring to the attention of all stakeholders the level of compliance necessary for the protection of women’s rights and the administration to stimulate more research focusing on the jurisprudence that is emerging recently.

Dr Getahun also added that the policy dialogue forum is organized   to give opportunity for academics, researchers and key institutional actors to engage in dialogue with local and international scholars, civil society leaders and other stakeholders on the substantive doctrinal, jurisprudential approaches, standards and best practices that should be adopted to effectively protect women’s rights guaranteed under the FDRE Constitution.

Policy makers and stakeholders from Different governmental and non-governmental organizations attended the forum and exchanged views and develop consensus on actionable plans for better realization of fundamental rights and freedoms of women.
