Research Theme: “Rights Protection in the Labor Market”

Center for human rights (CHR) plans to conductance empirically informed research on the topic “Rights Protection in the Labor Market”. It has a general objective of identifying the practical challenges in the labor rights protection in private enterprises. The research sites include Addis Ababa, Ambo, Hawassa, Gambella, Adama and Semera. Thus, CHR is looking for interested and proficient researchers based on the following competencies and qualifications:-

  1. Research Coordinator: Required number one
  • PHD or master’s degree or equivalent Human Rights, Law, Economics or other relevant social science field.
  • At least eight years of experience in qualitative and quantitative researches.
  • Research experience on labor issues is an advantage.
  • A prior publication in academic journal is an added advantage.

 

  1. Researchers : Required number six
  • PHD or master’s degree or equivalent in Human rights, Gender Studies, Law, Sociology, Economics or other relevant social science
  • At least five years’ experience as researcher
  • Research experience on labor issues is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of local language of the study areas is an advantage.

 

To Apply: Application should be made in a team consisting of one research coordinator and six researchers having multi-disciplinary backgrounds. Applicants should balance the gender representation in forming a team by including female researchers in their team.
